Group Accountant

Francois Marine and Offshore is seeking a Group Accountant.


He/she will have overall responsibility for consolidating results for the Francois Group of companies while ensuring that accounting standards, controls and accuracy are maintained whilst meeting Northern Marine Group and Stena Group reporting requirements.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and consolidate financial statements for Francois business units (BU) including review of input from Singapore and overseas BUs and finalizing eliminations and consolidation adjustments.
  2. Assist in the review of the monthly management reporting of all Francois BUs including analysis of income statements, balance statements, cash flows and reconciliation schedules.
  3. Prepare the monthly reporting pack for submission to head office and assist in group accounting matters including managing variance analysis and providing commentary on performance and monitoring of key performance indicators of all Francois BUs.
  4. Assist with the annual budget and quarterly forecast including review and consolidate BU budget pack for submissions to head office.
  5. Provide support for ERP and WMS system enhancements and help to identify and propose new business process enhancements.
  6. Participate in ad-hoc projects and other initiatives, including preparation of annual report, XBRL reporting, board papers and provide user training on systems and processes.
  7. Support compliance, internal controls, audit and GST and corporate tax matters.
  8. Supervise a team of accounting staff.
  9. Any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the BU.

Required Qualifications

A relevant accounting professional qualification but it would desired if the imcumbent has relevant post graduate business degree.

Required Experience

  • At least 5 years of direct accounting or finance experience with solid technical background, including consolidated reporting and statutory reporting.
  • Experience in a managing a full spectrum of accounting matters, including month-end closing of accounts, prepare management reports and various schedules for account reconciliation.
  • Experience in maintaining documentation of processes and procedures and ensuring adherence with internal controls.
  • Experience in dealing with external auditors, tax agents, etc.

Required Knowledge

  • Strong technical knowledge of local FRS and IFRS
  • General knowledge of Marine Supply industry and Shipping

Required Skills

  • Highly organized and structured with strong level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • PC literate with MS packages

  • Strong communication skills
