Francois Marine B.V. is looking for an Operations Manager

Job Profile:

Reporting directly to General Manager, the Operations Manager will be responsible for the effective and successful management of inbound and outbound cargo, labor, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for Francois Marine & Offshore. The Operations manager will be wholly responsible for all warehousing and transportation activities in the Netherlands ensuring smooth passage if goods for inbound/receipt and storage as well as outbound deliveries.

Actively set up partnerships in the ARA area for delivery of high-volume items (water /fruit and vegetables) to reduce the costs of last mile delivery.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • To be overall responsible for the Operations Division and the supervision of boarding personnel and warehouse personnel and their environmental, health and safety requirement at the workplace
  • To continually improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the division level processes and ensure that the processes are clearly communicated and understood
  • To ensure that planned deliveries and collections are coordinated and achieved at the most cost effective, efficient environmental responsible and safe manner
  • To handle volumes for new major clients
  • To board vessels when necessary in a safe manner and to maintain and seek good customer relationship
  • To regularly monitor goods return/reject and ensure that they are promptly returned to suppliers
  • To manage staff and inbound supplies, as well as third-party transport providers for deliveries to Rotterdam ports and ARA (Amsterdam Rotterdam Antwerp) region
  • Management of Inventory, Cycle Counts and overall accuracy of receipt, storage and dispatch of items
  • To follow up with any customers’ complaints and prevent recurrences using NCR processes
  • To ensure that the company trucks and forklift are properly maintained and at working conditions
  • Project Manage the build and contractors of Freezers and Chillers in Rotterdam ensuring this is delivered on time
  • Point of contact for ERP implementation for Warehousing /Logistics in Rotterdam
Preferred Experience & Personhood:
  • 10 years' Operations experience in Warehousing and Distribution Management
  • Previous experience working in the Rotterdam Area
  • Inventory and Supply Chain experience
  • ERP Rollout experience – implementation and post implementation problem solving
  • Project Management Experience
  • Be able to cover in the absence of the General Manager
  • Must have proven record of delivering projects on time and lean working practices
  • Self-Starter driven and passion to take the business to higher levels
  • Pragmatic and ability to solve problems
  • Commercial awareness and ability to promote the services of Francois Marine & Offshore
