World Food Day – Our Reefer Trucks

16th Oct 2019

16 October 2019 is dedicated to World Food Day by the United Nations.

An estimate of 821 million people in the world are malnourished yet, food is a dominant source of waste. Last year, Francois Marine & Offshore acquired an energy-efficient reefer truck housing a non-ozone depleting refrigerant. This addition to our existing fleet was designed to reduce food waste and meet demands of maintaining cool temperature during transit from chiller to anchorage in warm weather.

Ensuring the fidelity of frozen food is not only serves seafarers’ wellbeing but reduces our global footprint as a company. The trucks are an extension of our warehousing infrastructure and capabilities, which includes 800 m2 of chiller and freezer facilities.

Our Fleet’s Capabilities:

  • Reefer Truck—20 feet with adjustable partition—allowing both frozen and chilled goods to be transported simultaneously, and maximum load of 12 pallets or 12 tonnes.
  • 20-Feet diesel-engine with maximum load of 12 pallets.
  • Three 14-feet trucks for regular deliveries and a maximum load of 12 pallets.
  • 10-feet truck for regular deliveries and a maximum load of 2 pallets.

Apart from trucks, there's a minivan ready for urgent orders. Our team works 24/7 to ensure ships are provided for.
